Scars as Metaphor for the Body in Process

Scars act as a metaphorical model for a way out of fixed identity and into a model of the body in process, a body becoming. The body, like a scar, is in a constant state of transition, a place where new layers of meaning are perpetually created within one’s skin. By recognizing the tremendous potential within the transitional space of our bodies we can lead lives more attune to our individual needs and desires.
