chicken, curator, 2009

Spare Room Project, San Francisco, California.

Description: Chicken aims to peep at the intersecting definitions of the word chicken: cowardly, twinkie, poultry, and features photos and writing by Aykan Safoglu, writing by Aren Aizura, sculpture by Emmett Ramstad, mixed media drawings by Finley Coyl, photos by James Giotta, paintings by Micah Bazant and performance by Qilo Matzen.

chicken.

pink and white. raw. flayed meat under plastic wrap, threaded along the grain like calico. tender juicy melt in the mouth. fast cars speeding toward the cliff’s edge, cowlicks and white t-shirts stretched over hormone-inflated pectoral muscles. old mouths gripping young cocks. what are ya, chicken? twine wrapped around bald petite ankles. do you like breast or thigh? would you like to stuff that hole?
