5 Objects and a Story brought together together eight Bay Area artists to display the objects they collect. This exhibit showcased the way artists gather objects, like bower birds, to attract their art practice. In this exhibit, the artist acted as the collector and the object acted as the muse. The viewer was provided the opportunity of drawing parallels between the items of intrigue and the artists’ work, a condensed way of seeing an artist’s collection. Additionally, a zine was published in conjunction with the show featuring object writers. Click here to read the zine.
